***home sweet home***

lo there../ nice to see you..

::15.12.05::
i have new music for you. this one was recorded last night. the beginning is rather low tempo/dull. in fact i think i may have been playing some of the records at the wrong speed! but only one or 2 mind. there is a slightly festive bit part way through and then some more bleeps and what have you towards to end. you can access it from the mixes link on the left, or here

::14.12.05::
have a look at this:

can you tell what it is yet?

::07.12.05::
i recorded a new mix last night. slightly flakey start, but it picks up. it is in the 12-2005 folder - click the mixes button on the left and follow the link at the bottom of the page. or if you're lazy click here.

::05.12.05::
yesterday was quite a dark day - braved the crowds for the first time and actually began christmas shopping... ughh.hhh. fortunately most of the physical stuff has been done, and i should be able to rely on the worldwide interweb for the rest.
so - this month our dragon session has been brought forward slightly, meaning we don't have to play on the last sunday of the month - christmas day :)
here is the flyer for the night:

::25.11.05::
thank you to everyone that came down to the eagle last weekend. we had a fun night and hope you did also.
the good news is that the bar manager liked our stuff, so we should be returning for another session (probably of a more chilled nature ;-)) early next year... details to follow.
so... 2 things for you today - a new mix - this one has nice tunes, some ok mixing, some not-so-ok mixing and one evil tempo change :) apologies for that, but hopefully you can forgive me.
second thing is the dragon bar this sunday.
here is the flyer for it:

::17.11.05::
my fingers have frozen! certainly turned a bit nippy out there. so we're getting ready for saturday night... do try and make it down if you can. in the meantime there is a new mix in the november folder for you.
also - i'll be streaming on piratetv on sunday night from 8-10pm.

::31.10.05::
happy hallow'een!
here's a flyer for the eagle on 19th november:

::27.10.05::
productivity levels are officially up. i did another mix last night and enjoyed some booze whilst recording. the results are accessible from the october folder (go to mixes on the left) or by clicking here.
it shall be hallow'een soon. i'm thinking of buying a mask and getting my own back on any trick or treaters that may be paying us a visit. last year, i opened the door and charged at some local youngsters that rang our bell, but doing it in disguise would definitely be better.

::26.10.05::
new news and new mixes! 2 new october mixes - gas tricks and do deshitaka.
live stuff wise, we've got 2 dates coming up in the near future - this sunday (30th) at the dragon bar, a flyer for which is below... and then a night at an all new (at least it is for us!) venue - The Eagle on 19th november. flyerage and more news will follow shortly.

::04.10.05::
in case you were hanging in there panicking about the status of my computer, fear not! all is ok, the micro-chavette is back up and running. the following day, i unplugged everything, plugged it all back in and wooh! it was working again! so i've even taken a movie so that you can see it in it's glowing glory. all colourful and nice.
so! back to musical business... we shall be taking to the turntables again at the foundry on saturday 15th october. there's a chance that sticki will not be there, but hopefully it's a slim one.

flyerage right here:

::22.09.05::
today i am not very happy.
on friday i built my first pc (geek). it was running so nicely... until last night. i decided to plug a couple of extra things in to it before going out to the pub. upon returning home i fired the beast up, only to be greeted by a strange "popping" sound.
the power light went off and now the damn thing won't even turn on.
tonight i will find out if the little beggar can be resurrected, but i fear the worst.
anyway, on to other business...

firstly, there's a new rather commercial (in part) mix over in the september folder of the mixes section (entitled kemuldran mix)
secondly, sunday night is dragon bar time! hurrah! yes. so here's a flyer for you:

::14.09.05::
new music! check out the new stuff residing in the september folder over in the mixes link on the left. these 2 i am rather pleased with.
i hope you will like them also.

::25.08.05::
bank holiday weekend approaches! hurrah! on a less positive side though, it kind of marks the end of summer... ho hum.
anyway, we'll be taking to the turntables once again this sunday at the dragon bar. you've got monday off work, so you should really come this time! yes you! anyway, here's a flyer - you'll note a slight re-branding... yes it is intentional. i think it looks rather dapper:

::12.08.05 - part 2::
... there's another one! this one started well, but ended badly.
check the mixes link for the 'you are the water girl mix'.

::12.08.05::
i ate too much for lunch today and now i feel quite nauseous.
i've been busy this week and there is now another mix for you to listen to. it is called red sky at night and can be found from the mixes link on the left.
that is all.

::09.08.05::
back with new musics!
check out the plaster master mix from the mixes link on the left. i'm rather pleased with this one. it's an upbeat number with a bit of a mishmash of styles. you'll see.
enjoy now!

::21.06.05::
time is starting to fly by again. nearly halfway through the year already ... golly!
bit of news - i'll be playing otherground on july 3rd at the spitz. there'll be plenty of fine live/dj music, and it's all in a good cause too... proceeds go towards the goldsmiths fine art post graduate degree show catalogue. details as follows:

::04.06.05::
so. i would like to draw your attention away from the 2 "new" mixes below and towards an even newer one. it actually sounds quite pleasant (unlike those 2 filth imposters below). if you go to the mixes page it is the one dated 03-06-05.

and so on to other news...

i had an odd dream last friday night/saturday morning.
sal and i were walking down fargate in sheffield town centre, when we happened upon trinny and susana.
i thought my sister might like a photo of us all together, so took one.
next thing i know, we're all back home in our flat; somewhere along the way we must have acquired richard branson, cos he's asleep downstairs on our wee mezanine bed. me, sal and the tubbier of the 2 fashion freakists are in bed. the tall skinny one is in the lounge taking the cushions off the sofa to create her makeshift bed.
so i go in and tell her that there's plenty of room in our bed, cos she's a skinny beast.
and then sal woke me up.
i think it's probably best she did.

::29.05.05::
2 new mixes have been uploaded from over the past week. you can find them by either clicking the monkey on the right, or the mixes button from the menu on the left.
also, it's dragon bar time again tomorrow night (yes monday 30th). here is a flyer:

::23.05.05::
here's a link to some interesting stuff i spotted in paris/ny.

::20.05.05::
you will have noticed that the shoutbox has now officially gone. sorry, but it had to be done. as soon as i can work out a way of stopping spammers hammering it like the broken nail that it was, i will enable it again. for now though, you can enjoy the presence of the chimp in period clothing over there. what a natty little fellow he is!

::19.05.05::
i made it back alive. well, more or less. picked up some evil bug or other on the flight home and spent first 4 days back crumpled up dying at home. joy. i have a drawer full of clean pants though now :)

::11.05.05::
imagine my disgust upon returning to my room to find the clean pants NOT there.
a visit to reception, followed by some hotel monkey research, revealed that my pants had been sneakily hung up in the wardrobe! hurrah!

::10.05.05::
right, you'll be pleased to know that by the time i finally return to the hotel tonight i should have some nice clean undies waiting for me.
for that i am a truly happy man!
i'm looking out of the window here and there is what appears to be a chef school or somesuch located in the building opposite. there are probably about 30 visible humans in chefs hats and no doubt more elsewhere slaving away over their pots and pans.
i will attempt to get a photo so that you may see them

::09.05.05::
i'm running out of clean underwear.
not to mention outer clothing. dammit. this could get nasty. i am now stuck here until thursday.
12 hour working days and elvis week on tv are starting to take their toll on my mental well-being.
in fact things are getting worse right in front of my eyes - liza manelli, priscilla presley and paula abdul have all flashed up on the pesky tv in the past 10 minutes.

::08.05.05::
well, LA continues to be sunny, though i am stuck indoors. one thing which made my day today was finding that the sandwich shop near here sells the utterly delightful but overly addictive WASABI PEAS!
with a bag of these in my hand, i am a truly happy man.
on a rather unhappy note though, those bloody children still insist on running up and down the hotel corridors all day long.
i'm starting to whinge like an old man aren't i? that is enough for now then.

::07.05.05:: part 2
there, it is done. can you see the wee fellow up there?
so this is goodbe shoutbox, may you display the spam no more!

::07.05.05::
ok, so i've decided what to do. i shall be removing the shoutbox as it is not fun any more and nobody uses it other than those filthmongers. instead i shall replace it with an image from time to time.
they will be pleasant pictures too. i have thought of some which i will use already.
you shall see.
so tonight if you are in london town you can find the boys at the foundry, great eastern street, old street, east london etc. you know it. they're playing from 7pm - close and my heart shall be with them.
god bless you chaps, each and every one!

::06.05.05::
today feels like it has lasted forever.
so i'm sat in a hotel room in in LA, with the sound of hyperactive children running up and down the corridor back and forth from the swimming pool. i wish someone would slip them a ritalin.
u.s. tv has to be the lamest in the world. if i manage to bypass the constant onslaught of advertisements, soaps, chatshows and actually locate a slightly more informative program, such as the "news", i find myself subjected to mind boggling stories such as the one i have just watched about a guy who found a finger in his tub of ice-cream and ultimately refused to return the finger to it's rightful owner - a worker in the ice-cream factory who had it severed hours previously.
i want to get off now please.
on top of all this, there's the spamming army that incessantly fill the shoutbox up there on the right hand side with their torrent of filth. i say desist! stop now you fiends! leave me alone!
ok it is bedtime now. everyhing will be ok tomorrow.
good night x

::19.04.05::
corr blimey, time goes fast when you don't think about it... and so we approach the last sunday of april and another whipped cream & envelope vs rebuffer evening at the dragon bar (5 leonard street, shoreditch, ec2a 4aq).
you'll find us fresh, frisky and ready to rumble once again from 7pm - close.

::15.04.05::
ahha... what a lovely weekend in paris it was. thanks so much to the patrons of the lizard lounge and the bottle shop for having us play. i hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. the vibe all weekend was one of pure happiness, with some corking tunes along the way.
unfortunately we didn't record any of the sets, but they'll live on in our memories!
i think i need to eat less love with my cereal...

there will be pictures posted shortly...

::24.03.05::
a few things for you for easter: something chirpy and something chocolatey.
you can catch us at the dragon bar this sunday night (no work on monday so what's your excuse now?) for another whipped cream & envelope extravaganza... and also don't forget to check out sticki playing live as manilla at ginglik on saturday night. i think it is free entry before 11pm so get down there nice and early!
other than that i hope you have an enjoyable bank holiday weekend. xx

manilla @ ginglik 26th march

::09.03.05::
what-oh! here's another mix. it has some rather harshly clashing melodies in the first half, but levels out a bit after that.
in other news... you can find us back at the foundry this saturday for another plug bash. usual stuff - free entry, 7-11pm etc. see flyer here:

plug @ the foundry, 12th march 05

::04.03.05::
my head is filling up with a cold. i think it may be affecting my musical take on things? you might see what i mean by having a listen to this. it is rather commercial sounding, particularly at the begining. nevermind eh.

::01.03.05::
there is something audible and new right about here. see what you think. the styles and tempos are varied as usual.

::15.02.05::
firstly, a big hello to all the shoutbox spammers that have been hitting the site, my oh my what a plethora of filth you peddle! keep it coming... and while you're posting your nonsense you can have a little listen to this. i pray that you enjoy.

::07.02.05::
it is monday morning so i will keep this brief. archived set from last night's piratetv.net session is available for download here. mixing a bit dodgy in part, but i think you will like the actual tunes.

::04.02.05::
i realise i haven't wished you a happy new year... though it is now february. ho hum. anyway, there's a few newsy nuggets... we're going to be playing in paris early april of this year. 9th april you will find us in the lizard lounge... then 10th april we'll be playing at the bottle shop. more details to follow. in the meantime, a fresh mix i recorded can be found right here. that's all for now though i think. dragon bar later this month... foundry early next... toodleoo x

OLD STUFF HAS BEEN DELETED.
IT CAN BE FOUND IN "HISTORY" ABOVE IF YOU REALLY WANT TO READ IT.
